September has come and gone. It’s October and those Fall colors have begun to brighten our day and brighten our grounds here at Mountain View. Mother Nature has begun to remind us that Fall is here, and all those holidays are on their way. Take a cemetery walk on the historical side and say Hello. We’re open Seven Days.

It was September. A special Sunday. The 17th. It was wonderful. It was the celebration of our Mother Mausoleum and her 100th birthday. A few months early, but it was wonderful. The Altadena Heritage folks made it all happen with the help of our many friends and our many neighbors. Mountain View’s very own Keith, Elizabeth and Erika aided and abetted the fun, in costume and cutting a rug on the mausoleum marble dance floor. It was dancing and revelry and an array of historical walking and talking characters that would have made Jay Gatsby proud.

Dancers. Musicians. Actors. Artists in our Art Gallery. It was on for young and old. We couldn’t help noticing an appearance by Mountain View’s go-to IT guy Oscar aka O2 and his little buddy, Lincoln, also in costume and adding to all the fun. Thanks everyone for a very special birthday.

Speaking of nostalgia and history, take a walk through our Sunset Lawn North and you’ll see a famous yellow family tree that started back in those dinosaur days in China. Ginkgo is her name and she and her sisters can be seen all over our scenic grounds here at Mountain View. Go Dodgers! Go Dodgers!
