March-2024 Looking out the window here at Mountain View once again

It’s March. February came and went and so did 2024’s Valentine’s Day and that awesome Black History parade down Fair Oaks Avenue. It was a very special month with many Altadena events. It was also a time that more and more neighbors and out-of-town visitors stopped by for another fresh-air walk and talk stroll through Mountain View.

It’s a house right out of Edgar Allen Poe and is quite a sight to see. It’s located directly opposite our outdoor Vista Del Monte service area. It holds four graves and it’s the resting place for the Buckley family. Look and peer inside the windows and take a gander at the way we were. The inside cobwebs are for real. Google the names and you’ll see why Buckley House is one of our most visited attractions.

There are many religious leaders resting here at Mountain View. One of the most famous is Presbyterian radio minister John Vernon McGee and is one of the most visited gravesites. You’ll find Minister McGee resting in our scenic Radiant Meadow area. Affectionately described as a Texas Plowboy that loved Jesus, McGee’s radio Thru the Bible stories are still inspiring listeners on Christian Talk Radio. It might be time to stop by, say hello, and pay your respects.

With so much beauty in our cemetery, many visitors are pleasantly surprised to visit our Pasadena Mausoleum. Yes, 50’s TV Superman George Reeves rests here, but with all the Stained Glass and walking levels there’s so much more to see. Our Pasadena Mausoleum is located right next to our popular Sunrise Chapel. Look for those Romanesque columns!

Nothing says more about Spring that those Cherry Blossoms that have begun to show themselves all around our historic Mountain View Cemetery. With over 200 species of trees our grounds sure have that look and appeal to all nationalities and to all ethnicities. We truly are a cemetery for all Seasons. Happy Springtime everyone. Happy Pi Day!
Spring training is underway. Those Dodger dogs are only
hours away. Baseball 2024. Go Dodgers!
Till we look out the window here at Mountain View once again…
