The magic month of July is here. Summer 2022! Summertime is the time to walk through our history. You’ll find architect extraordinaire, Joseph James Blick. Born in Iowa. Arriving in Pasadena, he worked with his dad in construction, and soon formed Blick & Moore. He designed the Star-News Bldg. and many local homes including General Patton’s home in San Marino. A local life story to Google. Do it now.

The Blick family story is just one of the many hundreds of family tales that are found as you walk through our streets and meadows. The interest in Genealogy is evident as more and more family members drop by and ask us to help find the branches of their family tree. To help, we can introduce you to our QR Search Code.

Our Mountain View Cemetery has a personality all her own and part of her historic charm is the over 200 species of trees that grace our grounds. Oak trees and Palm trees and Jacaranda’s sit side by side and add to our meadow-like appearance and personality. You’ll notice that our cemetery is designed to provide a quite solace. A quite silence.

July and August are hot months and keeping your cool is easy. Easy if you keep in mind our secret place to walk and keep cool. It’s a walk through our historic Mother Mausoleum on Marengo Ave. The cool marble and Stained-Glass help keep temperatures down when the heat is on. It’s our Sistine Chapel. It’s time to say hello. Open 7 Days.

Your summer walk through our cemetery must include a visit to our Vista Del Monte outside mausoleum. It’s become such a popular highly ventilated place to hold family services. More and more visitors now have a place to enjoy that joyful summer pastime, Reading. Speaking of summer pastimes, Go Dodgers!
Till we look out the window here at Mountain View once again…
