April is here. April means Earth Day in all her glory. There are so many ways to celebrate the nurturing of Mother Earth. Green is the obvious symbol of Mother Earth and thanks to all our February and March rain, our grounds have the look of Ireland. Home gardeners, here is your inspiration. Your local hardware store is moments away!

Speaking of green, our beautiful grounds here at Mountain View have over 200 species of trees from all over the world. All with different colors and blossoms. None could be more beautiful than what we have affectionately called “Pink is the New Black.” I think you will agree, pink is the color of Spring here in Altadena.

The Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide is with us each April and one must look no further than Mountain View to help recognize the heartbeat of a poet for the ages, Jacques S. Hagopian, resting here in our Sunset Lawn North scenic area. Let Google be your guide for translations.

Some good news about another author that rests here at Mountain View. Our native daughter, Pasadena City College’s Octavia Butler and her epic science-fiction story Kindred is finally airing on Hulu. Check it out. It is awesome.

Just inside our Fair Oaks Gate, you’ll see family tributes to their loved ones, as you look down upon our lush cemetery grounds. It’s what we call our Sunset Lawn North neighbors. Take a walk through our Mountain View history. Since 1882. Open Seven Days. Bring a friend. Go Dodgers!
Till we look out the window here at Mountain View once again…
