July has come and gone, and it’s been hotter than hot. There’ a cool place here. Our Scattering Garden. There’s plenty of white Roses to greet you as walk along the walls and enjoy the afternoon shadows to help keep your cool. You’ll hear the cascading water as it falls and washes against the scattering garden pond. It’s a lovely addendum to our Mother Mausoleum on Marengo Ave. See you soon.

Every time we have a service in our cemetery, someone, usually our devoted clergy, notice our local beautiful San Gabriel Mountains. It’s a Biblical-like reference that inspires everyone at graveside. The parable of the mustard seed is heard and heard again. Our mountains add to the storytelling and the sacredness of the service. Look up and see for yourself. We’re open Seven Days.

Our Sunset Lawn area South has a lot of history to explore. It’s the first area that started to comingle the Union and Confederate Civil War soldiers and their areas of rest. It was a sign of the times and that’s the way it was done, way back when. As you walk across our Mountain View Cemetery, you’ll see we have quite an affection for Veterans and their families. Enjoy your walk; enjoy our history.

Our Pasadena Mausoleum is a very popular sight to see whenever you visit us here at Mountain View. Those Romanesque columns are quite tall and hard to miss as you walk to our most popular service area, our Sunrise Chapel. Our Pasadena Mausoleum has quite a history and with all the Stained-Glass to see and with all the scenic marble, you’ll find it’s also a cool place to be, especially during our Dog Days of Summer.

Inside our Pasadena Mausoleum there are many historical personalities, but no one is more popular and celebrated than George Keefer Brewer aka George Reeves our TV Superman from the 50’s. He was in the opening scene of MGM’s awesome flick Gone With The Wind, did some Film Noir movies and acted at the Pasadena Playhouse. Maybe it’s time to pay your respects to the actor that made us believe a man could fly. August means baseball. Go Dodgers!
